Toyota has launched the facelifted version of its highly popular Innova MPV in India. The facelifted version of the Innova has already begun reaching Toyota dealerships across the nation.

With the price of the facelifted MPV officially announced today, deliveries are likely to commence immediately.
Toyota has released prices of only the diesel powered Innova facelift, suggesting that only the diesel variants of the MPV will be facelifted initially. Toyota has also been selling petrol and CNG versions of the MPV in India. Prices of the facelifted Innova range between Rs. 12.45 lakhs and Rs. 15.06 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.

The diesel powered facelifted Innova, available in 7 and 8 seat options depending on the variant specified, can be ordered in 3 variants: GX, VX and Z. The 2.5 liter D-4D turbo diesel engine that outputs 102 PS-200 Nm remains unchanged and so does the 5 speed manual gearbox. Both BS-III and BS-IV variants of this engine are available.

The various new features on the facelifted Innova are strictly cosmetic bits. A refreshed front bumper, grille and chrome trim for the fog lamps are the changes up front while the rear of the MPV gets a chrome garnish on the hatch lid along with reflector strips. This is pretty much what’s new on the facelifted Innova’s exteriors.

The MPV’s top of the line Z variant gets a few more features to differentiate it from the GX and VX variants. Chromed side garnishes, graphics, a rear roof spoiler and a chrome tipped muffler cutter are features exclusive to the Z variant. Also, the Z variant gets new wood trim for the gear shift knob, dashboard and arm rests while the seats get a dual-tone leather finish.

While the Innova Facelift sold in Indonesia gets a range of features such as a touch screen infotainment system and roof mounted DVD player, Toyota India hasn’t deemed it fit to offer these features to the Indian MPV buyer despite jacking up prices of the Innova. Also, safety bits such as airbags and ABS, standard on all variants of the Indonesian model are available only on the top variants of the Indian Innova. With prices of the top-end Innova close to the 18 lakh rupee mark in most parts of the country, the MPV is getting pricier each passing year with no corresponding addition to features.
