Audi A4 Celebration Edition launched

Audi India has launched a new variant of the A4 luxury sedan. Called the Celebration Edition, the Audi A4′s latest variant is most probably a stock clearance exercise by the German luxury car maker and with good reason. The new Skoda Octavia comes with more equipment and better powertrain specifications than the entry-level Audi and so does the Jetta Highline model.

So, the Audi A4 Celebration Edition, at a pan-India ex-showroom price of 25.99 lakh rupees, looks like a stock clearance exercise at best. The stripped out A4 variant is built at Audi India’s Aurangabad facility through the CKD kit route, and 500 units of the car will be built. Bookings for the car are on at all Audi showrooms across India and deliveries will begin shortly.

Coming to the various features that the A4 “Celebration Edition” has been stripped off, here’s a quick walk through:
  • Xenon plus headlamps
  • Sunroof
  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Electrically operated ORVMs
  • Wood trims on dashboard
  • Rear view camera
  • Electric adjust function for the passenger seat
The 17 inch alloy wheels have been replaced by 16 inch units. The car continues to feature a comprehensive safety pack consisting of 8 airbags, ABS and EBD. Also, daytime running lamps and a Bluetooth equipped music system continue to be offered on the stripped down A4. The car is powered by a 2 liter TDI turbo diesel engine that’s borrowed from the Jetta.
This motor outputs 140 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by a CVT automatic gearbox that powers the front wheels of this luxury sedan. Audi India claims a 16.55 Kpl fuel efficiency figure for the new A4 variant, which comes with a 210 Kph top speed and a 9.1 second 0-100 Kph sprint. The Audi A4 is also available with more powerful turbo petrol and turbo diesel engines.
