Honda adds Modulo accessories to the Amaze compact sedan

Honda offers the Brio hatchback and the Amaze compact sedan in South East Asian markets with Modulo accessories. These accessories are now available for the Amaze compact sedan sold in the Indian car market as well.
Honda Cars India has begun listing these accessories on its website while Honda dealers have begun outfitting the Amaze with these accessories on-demand. For now, prices of these accessories haven’t been listed on Honda’s official website.

The following are the accessories that the India-spec Honda Amaze compact sedan may be kitted out with:
  • New front grille with chrome surround
  • Front bumper lip spoiler
  • Side and rear skirting
  • Trunk spoiler
  • Alloy wheels
  • Aluminium A-B-C pedals
  • Ambient lighting for the front footwell
The Amaze sold with these accessories is unchanged in terms of engines, transmissions and other features. The car is equipped with petrol and turbo diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 1.2 liter i-VTEC unit that is also found in the Brio hatchback. This engine outputs 90 PS-110 Nm and is available with two transmission choices: a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed automatic gearbox. The diesel engined Amaze features the 1.5 liter i-DTEC turbo diesel motor that outputs 100 PS-200 Nm. The Amaze Diesel gets a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard.

The Amaze is based on the Brio platform and is likely to be joined by a new car in 2014. Honda has plans of launching the 7 seat Mobilio MPV, a rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in India next year. The Mobilio, like the Brio hatchback and the Amaze compact sedan, is based on the Brio platform. Like the Amaze, the Mobilio is likely to get petrol and turbo diesel engine options. A diesel engine option for the Brio hatchback, which is currently available in petrol-only guise, is unlikely to be offered in the near future.
